3D Pen Dioramas
I received a 3D pen in the mail a day ago. And with that delivery, came the realisation that creating structures in plastic, with a pen, without structural aid, is hard. It's not doom and gloom, if anything it means taking a bit of a leap of faith and just diving straight into the work. After trying the pen at my desk, it became clear, that to do these dioramas well, I need a fair bit of structure support, and a lot of time. But, the whole ordeal helped me realise that the 30 minutes I took building a right angle, helped me realise drawing out a human figure or a lamp, or whatever the intricate structures of the scene are, isn't possible. Again, not doom and gloom, it gives me a chance to encorperate 3D printing into the work, and stuck in using the 3D pen. But this also means I have to do a bit of modelling in fusion 360, and I'll have to be conscious of scale. I still love the idea of the project though, and I'm excited to work further. I'll film any practice I do next time.
